Fact Check: Corker Camp Lying About Bob Corker's Worth

The Corker camp just can't tell the truth.

On Monday while appearing on Hardball, Congressman Ford said that Bob Corker was worth nearly a quarter of a billion dollars. In response, Corker spokesman Ben Mitchell said the following:

"The number he used (to describe Mr. Corker's wealth) is totally> inaccurate, and he knows it."

Not so fast, Ben. The public record clearly shows that the number that Congressman Ford used was accurate.

The Tennessean recently noted:

"Former Chattanooga Mayor Bob Corker has assets totaling between $63.7 million and $234.5 million, according to a financial disclosure report filedas part of his bid for the Republican nomination for the U.S. Senate."

So we know Corker is worth as much as $235 million. However, we will never know the exact number, as Bob is still unwilling to release his full tax returns.

So that brings me to this question: what is Bob hiding? Why does he not release his full tax returns? Is he afraid that we will see find out about more scandals like the Wal Mart scandal?

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that Bob does not trust Tennesseans can handle the truth.

However, I believe the feeling is mutual. Not many Tennesseans trust Bob.
