Demand More Debates!

I just finished watching the first debate on the Meet the Press Senate debate series between Bob Casey and Rick Santorum, both of whom are vying the Senate seat from Pennsylvania.

It was a very good, factual, and spirited debate. Tim Russert was fair, but tough as he always is.

Throughout the show, I kept thinking to myself, gosh I can't wait to see Congressman Ford and Bob Corker on there in the coming months. Then I remembered that Bob Corker was on the only Senate candidate in the nation to reject Meet the Press' debate invite. There will be no Meet the Press debate between the two.

In fact, there is only going to be 3 debates in the whole election, and only one of those is going to be telecast statewide. It really is a shame that Bob is such a chicken. People want and deserve to hear these two candidates talk about the issues and the future of our state and nation.

Congressman Ford has been ready to debate as many times as possible since day one. He is ready to defend his record and is ready to talk about his plans for the future.

On the other hand, it should be no surprise that Bob doesn't want to debate. He has no record to defend and has no vision to fight for.

The people deserve better.

The choice is clear. It's time for a new generation of leadership.

Demand Bob debate Congressman Ford around the state in every television market so no questions about the candidates will be left on election day:
