The Ford Report's Response To The NRSC's Attack

It appears the NRSC has taken offense to my exposing of their lying about Congressman Harold Ford Jr. and his record, as they have issued a press release now attacking me.

However, I stand by what I said because it is the truth. They are lying.

The NRSC should listen to Tony Snow, President Bush's spokesman, and the Senate Republican Conference's Communication Director both have said that Harold Ford is a moderate who works to solve problems in a bi-partisan fashion.

When will the NRSC stop the divisive rhetoric? It's getting our country no-where fast.

The fact is, they have no new ideas or vision to present to the voters of Tennessee.

And they sure can't run on their own merits.

They are the biggest spenders in our nation's history. The biggest tax raisers on middle class families in our nation's history And they are the worst managers of intelligence and a war in our nation's history.

Further, they have failed on immigration reform and failed to guard our ports. And now with the hurricane season upon us, they still have no plan on how to deal with that.

So their response - the same old thing. Attack, attack, attack.

Tennesseans deserve better than the Republicans' 30 second attack ads and continual daily misleadings.

The people of Tennessee want their next U.S. Senator to be someone who seeks to find real solutions to real problems and one who looks to remove the barriers that prevent people from getting ahead in life.

That is why Harold Ford Jr. and his new generation of leadership will be victorious come this November and no NRSC lie or attack can change that!

160 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
