Blogging For Bryant & NRSC Running Deficit Of Ideas; Resorts To Lying

Once again, Blogging for Bryant and the NRSC are lying to Tennesseans by playing the liberal card on Congressman Harold Ford Jr.

However, the people of Tennessee are not going to bite. They know Harold Ford Jr. is a moderate Democrat who has it right when it comes to energy independence, balancing the budget, Iraq, securing our ports, family values, as well as many other pressing issues.

Instead of putting forth their own agenda and new ideas that will help the people of Tennessee and this nation move forward and get ahead in life, all the Republicans want to do is play the politics of destruction by continually attacking Harold Ford Jr.

They know they are running a deficit on ideas and know they can't run on their own merits, so they go negative against the frontrunner.

Since day one of this campaign, Ed Bryant has attacked Harold Ford for everything and look where it has gotten him: last place in his primary.

Tennesseans are rejecting the negative campaign tactics of Ed Bryant and the Republicans. They are ready for a new generation of leadership who will bring about real results and will make everyone proud.

160 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
