Republican Voter: Harold Ford Has Vision For Future

As Congressman Ford travels around our great state, more and more people are coming to see that he is the candidate that has the vision to get our state and nation back on the right track.

Whether it be promoting fiscal responsibility, energy independence, or a common sense foreign policy, people are liking what they hear from our next U.S. Senator. (He also is the only candidate talking about real solutions to lower gas prices; see below)

That is the case with the author of the following letter:

I attended U.S. Rep. Harold Ford's Town Hall on Energy on April 11. I was very impressed with his maturity. He has great hope for our country, and his new generation of leadership is exactly what we need. I am well past 50, and I know that the problems our country faces will be dealt with by the future generations. We need people like Ford in office so our country will prosper.

I was equally impressed with those who surround Ford. One wonderful young woman in particular stood out to me.

She is coordinating efforts on the University of Tennessee campus, and her passion and charismatic personality were so inspiring. It's reassuring to know that, not only is Ford a great candidate for the Senate, but those he chooses to represent him are equally as capable.

I tend to vote Republican, as does most of this side of the state, but I decided to see what Ford was about, and I would urge everyone to go out and at least give him a chance.

Virginia is correct: we need Harold Ford Jr. and his new generation of leadership.

Ed Bryant, Van Hilleary, and Bob Corker each represent the failed policies of the past and it is time to move on.

Tennessee deserves better; they deserve Harold Ford Jr!

127 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
