Ford Calls For Reform Of Process That Approved Dubai Port Deal

The House Financial Services Committee considered a resolution today calling for the release of White House and Coast Guard documents detailing the review process of the Dubai Ports World acquisition of U.S. ports. This is the beginning of the effort to reform the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) review process. Congressman Ford made the following statement:

"The Dubai Ports World deal shows our national security can be outsourced by a secretive committee meeting behind closed doors. That needs to change. Today's resolution is a first step towards the process of reforming the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS) so our country is never again blindsided by foreign business deals that could endanger our security."

Comments: While the other candidates for U.S. Senate sit on their hands when it comes to the real issues of the day, Congressman Ford is once again stepping forward and taking the lead in defending our nation.

With each passing day, Congressman Ford shows more and more Tennesseans the leadership skills he has that is needed in the U.S. Senate.
