"The Knoxville News-Sentinel has felt the need for the past week to push Mike Padgett's annual chili supper as some sort of bipartisan lovefest instead of the Democratic fundraiser that it actually is. This is from the story on last night's event:
"Although Padgett is a Democrat, the event is stridently bipartisan and Republicans outnumbered Democrats by a hefty margin. Among them was state Sen. Tim Burchett of Knoxville, who said he came for 'food, fellowship and because Mike asked me.'"
No word yet on whether Burchett was counted as one of the Democrats or the Republicans.
MORE: It should be noted that, according to my latest records, Mike Padgett is running unopposed for his County Clerk position. That sparks the question as to what purpose the money that all of the "Republicans" just poured into Padgett's coffers is going to be used for. It boggles the mind..."
Huddleston then inserts the photo that is this post, (Congressman Ford with Mike Padgett) to try and falsely portray the event as being a one sided Democrat celebration, not bipartisan as the article indicated.
Sounds to me like Rob is just jealous.
I guess he heard that Congressman Ford wooed the bipartisan crowd while his boy, Ed Bryant, was no where to be found. (Just as he is in fundraising and polling)
The quicker Rob and the rest of his Republican friends come to terms with the fact that Congressman Ford appeals to all voters, Democrats and Republicans alike, the better off they will be.
Congressman Ford represents change, and that transcends party lines.
