Fellow Ford Supporters,I would like to announce the creation of our very own Google Group dedicated to Harold Ford Jr! The new group will serve several purposes as we move closer to the 2006 election.
First and foremost, as you may know, blogs do not have a member database. With that being said, it is almost impossible to have an organized support group. That is why I have created this new Google Group dedicated to Harold Ford Jr. When you sign up for our new group, you are in essence joining our blog while connecting with other Ford supporters.
The goals of our new group are two fold. First, we look for this group to keep supporters more informed. When you sign up for the group, you have the option of receiving posts that will be made via email. That means each time we post something new on the blog, you can receive it via email if you choose to do so. More or less, the group will serve as a mailing list in association with our blog. Just another way to stay connected and informed.
Secondly, when you join our group, we now have an easy way to send out action alerts. This will play a key role in the success of our Ford Media Defense Coalition. Each time we see negative, misleading content on the web concerning Congressman Ford, we will dispatch that to you via email. We then encourage everyone to review the content for yourself and respond to it with a personal heartfelt response in support of Congressman Ford. It is our job to be there on the front lines fighting for Congressman Ford on a daily basis.
Right now I am sure you are wondering how you can sign up for our new group. Well, it is pretty simple. You can either click here and go to the group page itself and then proceed to sign up or you can scroll all the way to the bottom of this blog and enter your email address and then click the subscribe button! It is that easy!

Notes: There are a few more additions to the blog that I would like to announce. First, as you may have already saw, I have placed a link and an ad to the Harold Ford Jr. Meetup page. I strongly encourage everyone to join the Harold Ford Jr. Meetup and start networking with fellow Ford supporters.
Second, I have added a link to a new Ford support blog called Forward With Ford. It is a student led blog which I believe will bring a unique perspective to the campaign and our grassroots efforts. Make sure you check it out!
Finally, you can now view Congressman Ford's daily House votes just by clicking the new link I have added to the Plogress Report. The Plogress Report will note each bill Congressman Ford sponsors or co-sponsors as well as telling how the Congressman voted on each measure that comes before the House on any given day. Each entry also contains a link to the text of the legislation in question.
