The Congressman will speak at a Minority Health Conference going on at the Sheraton Hotel.
The focus of the three day conference is eliminating racial and ethnic disparities in healthcare here in Tennessee.
According to the US Department of Health and Human Services, minorities suffer from cancer, HIV, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease at a much higher rate than the rest of the population.
