Harold Ford Jr. raised nearly $700,000 for his U.S. Senate bid in April, May and June, giving the Memphis Democrat a war chest of $1.8 million.
According to documents released by his campaign in anticipation of Friday's federal campaign finance filing deadline, Ford raised $691,822 and spent $474,593. More detailed information about the donations will be released by the Federal Elections Commission in the coming weeks.
Ford, a five-term U.S. representative, faces at least one Democratic opponent, state Sen. Rosalind Kurita of Clarksville, in the 2006 primary.
