A Week Of Progress For Ford Campaign In Review

There were several big happenings in the past week or so dealing with Congressman Ford and his campaign for the U.S. Senate.

In case you missed them, I have documented each below for everyone to read about:

Is there really any doubt who the front runner in this race is right now? I think not?

Harold Ford Jr. stands for change and that is why he and his campaign are doing so well.

While his opponents set back and lie and attack, Congressman Ford is talking about real issues like gas prices, energy independence, Iraq, immigration, global warming, stem cell research, balancing the budget, and many more! Those are central to his campaign and that is resonating with people. People want substance, not soundbites!

People are tired of the same old some old. They are ready for fresh ideas and real leadership.

They are ready for Harold Ford Jr. and his new generation of leadership!

200 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
