Oliver Willis: When They Flail, They Fail

The major Democratic blog Oliver Willis picked up on our post taking on the NRSC yesterday saying:
The NRSC opens up their lie volcano against Harold Ford, who looks more and more like he just might become a black Democratic senator from the south. And that scares the crap out of them.

Oliver Willis is right on when they say that the prospect of Harold Ford Jr. winning this race scares the crap out of the Republicans.

That alone explains their continued desperate behavior.

However, it does not explain their continued ineptitude on the major issues in this race. (gas prices, energy, balancing the budget, Iraq, Iran, etc.)

For that, there is no excuse. Tennesseans deserve better.

More: When will Ed Bryant, Van Hilleary, and Bob Corker tell Tennesseans where they stand on Iran?

149 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
