New Zogby Interactive Poll Shows Ford Dead Even With Corker, Hilleary, and Bryant

Take it for what it is worth, but the new Zogby Interactive polling, that at last check showed Congressman Ford almost down by double digits, now shows him in a dead heat with all of his Republican challengers.

Once again, Congressman Ford continues to make serious inroads on what once was thought to be the Republican strong hold here in Tennessee.

The more Tennesseans hear and read about him, the more support he gains.

The latest results are as follows:

Hilleary 43.2%
Ford 43%

Ed Bryant 45.7%
Ford 41.4%

Corker 42.4%
Ford Jr 41.4%

These results conincide with the findings of the Zogby telephone poll which came out a couple weeks ago that also showed Ford gaining ground and closing gaps.

It is hard to argue these days that Ford does not have the momentum in this race!

Can you say Senator Ford?

172 Days

Days of Congressional Inaction on Ethics

Above is the number of days that have passed since Jack Abramoff pleaded guilty to bribing Congressman.

It is also the number of days in which Congress has failed to pass an ethics reform bill that would limit private travel, ski and golf junkets, and would call for a full disclosure of expenses by lobbyists on members of Congress.

It is time for Congress to step up and pass an ethics reform bill that would do all of the above. In addition, it is time to end the pork barrel spending system as we know it and establish an independent ethics commission that would review ethics complaints against members of Congress.

I am proud Congressman Harold Ford Jr. is fighting for that reform!
