It seems everyday there are letters to the editor appearing in papers all across Tennessee in support of Ford.
Below is just another example of that.
The following letter comes from the Memphis Commercial Appeal and suggests that the Republicans take notes from Congressman Ford.
Republicans could learn from Rep. Ford
I couldn't help but laugh at the Republicans' hypocritical advertisement against Congressman (Harold) Ford (Jr.) published in your newspaper. Let's keep in mind that this ludicrous piece was published while the Republicans held their own convention at The Peabody, not exactly the most modest hotel in Memphis. Just out of curiosity, how much money did the RNSC spend in this extravaganza?
Let's also remember that this attack comes in times when several of their own congressmen are currently indicted for fraud -- that is, for committing criminal acts to secure unlawful gains that were used to support their own fancy lifestyles and advance their party's deceitful agenda. So where do Republicans' get the moral authority to point fingers at Ford, or anyone else for that matter?
While many read the allegations against Ford and shook their heads in unwarranted dismay, Congressman Ford was in Downtown Memphis welcoming the Southern Republican Convention attendees to our city. Because that is what a decent person and a good public servant does: reach across party lines and criticisms to ensure that the people of Memphis are well represented, and that visitors experience the best that Memphis has to offer.
