Democrats Have A Real Winner In Harold Ford Jr.
Jackson Sun columnist Jessalyn Bailey seemingly has been sniffing the "funny" gas again. I will agree, however, and God, how it hurts to do so, with her on one point. The Democratic Party, as a whole, has lost touch with the American people.
The bad news for Bailey and those of her mindset, however, is, for the first time in a long time, we have a winner in Congressman Harold Ford Jr.
Ford has the Republican Party in Tennessee running to the closet to drag out and dust off the "family values" script. You see, they cannot put Ford in a box. He is a conservative Democrat, which is a Republican's worst nightmare. He represents the best of both worlds. He does not arbitrarily vote based on party loyalty. He votes the best interest of Tennesseans, period.
Has anyone checked out Tennessee's ranking among states? In areas such as education, health care and technology, just to name a few, we rank in the 40s.
We are so much better than that. You will not hear much about that during the upcoming Senate campaign. No, the Republicans will pull out the family values script to distract voters from the real issues impacting our lives daily: health care, livable wages, education, jobs, child care and taxes, etc. Ford has a plan for us, if we will just listen and live up to our claim
to be a Christian, conservative state.

Congressman Ford is indeed a pro-family, pro-middle class tax cut, pro-business, pro-gun, pro-security, and pro-education Democrat and that has the Republicans scared.
Tennessee can do better.
We deserve better!
It is time for a change and Congressman Ford represents that change!
