Congressman Ford To Keynote 2006 Business Summitt

The Washington Business Journal has announced that Congressman Ford will be the luncheon keynote speaker at the 2006 Business Summitt:

The DC Chamber of Commerce and Washington Business Journal present the 2006 Business Summit -- "Engaging Business in Turning the Tide on Public Education." This year's business summit will focus on the role of business in improving the quality of our public schools in the District of Columbia.

Purpose: The purpose of the summit is to develop leadership and advocacy initiatives that will attract, educate and motivate business leaders to move a business-education agenda that reflects a shared vision and goals for the District's public schools.

Breakout Sessions: During the Summit there will be two "breakout " discussion sessions to include: Infrastructure and Organizational Productivity and Preparing Students for Tomorrow's Workforce.

These sessions will focus on:

-Policy advocacy that promotes educational issues.
-Best practices for more effective business/education partnerships and retention.
-Build strategic alliances and relationships to create unity and advance business-education connections.
-Outreach strategy around education leadership challenges and support for District of Columbia youth.
