New Zogby Poll Numbers Confirm Harold Ford Jr. Has The Momentum In U.S. Senate Race

Today the new Zogby poll numbers for October came out and they re-affirmed what our blog has been saying for months now: Harold Ford Jr. has the 'big mo'!

According to Zogby Interactive, Congressman Ford has nearly cut the Republican lead in half just in the past month.

This seems to be a pattern.

August 31, 2005
Ed Bryant: 53.6%
Harold Ford Jr: 36.6%
Margin: 17% points

September 29, 2005
Ed Bryant: 51.2%
Harold Ford Jr: 40%
Margin: 11.2% points

October 25, 2005
Ed Bryant: 47.5%
Harold Ford: 41.2%
Margin: 6.3% points *

The numbers pretty much speak for themselves. Back in August, Ford trailed by 17 points. In September, he was behind 11 points. And now, he has cut the lead to within the margin of error to 6 points.

While the Republican candidates continue to drop in the polling, Congressman Ford is steadily rising.

The progress shown in this poll is backed up by last week's Global Strategy Group poll which showed Congressman Ford leading all of his opponents in U.S. Senate campaign.

It is also backed up by the fact that Congressman Ford led all U.S. Senate candidates in third quarter fundraising.

I am sure Congressman Ford's opponents will try to spin this poll in any way they can. However, the facts are hard to argue with.

These numbers are just another example of the overwhelming progress Congressman Ford's campaign in making.

While his opponents sit back and bicker back and forth, Congressman Ford is seeking real solutions to real problems.

It seems the great people of Tennessee appreciate that.
